Question: I recently got my bike out of storage. Unfortunately, after sitting for such a long period of time, my motorcycle gas tank has become rusted. Do you have any products that can remove rust from motorcycle gas tanks?
Answer: Yes, we recommend and have had many customers use Evapo-Rust to remover rust from their tanks. Unlike other treatments, Evapo-Rust isn't acidic so it won't harm the underlying metal. Gas tanks, especially after they've become rusted can be very thin so it is critical not to eat away the metal with harsh acids.
Evapo-Rust is a soaking rust remover. In a gas tank, you're soaking the inside of the tank by filling or partially filling the gas tank. If your tank is larger, it isn't critical to soak the entire tank at once. You may tilt the tank and let it sit in different positions while the Evapo-Rust removers the rust. After all the rust is removed, simply rinse out the Evapo-Rust and clean the tank.
