Questions & Answers
What is VpCI technology and how does it protect metal parts?
VpCI stands for Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor. Cortec's VpCI products release a protective vapor that forms an invisible molecular layer on metal surfaces, shielding them from moisture, oxygen, and other corrosive elements. This protection works even in hard-to-reach areas without requiring direct contact with the metal, making it ideal for complex parts and enclosed spaces.
Which Cortec product is right for my application?
The best product depends on your specific needs. For packaging individual metal parts, VpCI bags and films are a great choice and come in zipper closure, heat sealable, and gusseted styles. For protecting electronics or components inside enclosures, VpCI emitters are sized by cubic footage. For wrapping or interleaving parts, VpCI paper and foam rolls offer flexible coverage. If you need help selecting the right product, contact us and we will be happy to assist.
Are Cortec products environmentally friendly?
Cortec is committed to sustainability. Many products in this collection, including VpCI bags, films, and papers, are recyclable and made from materials designed to minimize environmental impact. The VpCI-146 corrosion inhibiting paper is both recyclable and repulpable. Cortec's EcoLine products are specifically formulated with biodegradable and environmentally responsible ingredients.
