For the earliest stage of corrosion protection, Cortec®’s Boiler Egg™ scavenges oxygen and passivates metal during boiler startup. Easy to use and safe to handle, Boiler Egg™ dissolves upon contact in water during the initial filling stage, releasing Cortec®’s unique Vapor phase corrosion inhibitors (VpCI®) as the boiler refills
After a long-term or seasonal layup, Boiler Egg™ protects against the threat of oxygen pitting during the critical startup phase, before the water is heated or any operational treatment has been implemented.
For maximum corrosion protection, use Boiler Egg™ in conjunction with Boiler Lizard® as a complete preservation kit, also available as Boiler Lizard® Plus.

Packaging and Storage
Boiler Egg™ is packaged in 7.5” x 4.5” x 4.5” (19.1 x 11.4 x 11.4 cm) cartons, with one unit per carton.Each Boiler Egg™ is approximately 12” x 12” (30.5 x 30.5 cm) and contains 3.3 lbs (1.5 kgs) of VpCI®powder.
To ensure best product performance, keep sealed in original packaging, indoors, and out of direct
sunlight at 40–100° F (4–38° C).
Shelf life: 2 years
Boiler Egg™ is also available as Boiler Lizard® Plus, a kit containing one Boiler Egg™ and one Boiler Lizard® for complete protection across your boiler’s operational and layup cycle.

Notes
Do not use Boiler Egg™ on copper, copper-based alloys, or other yellow metals. Compatibility with non-metallics in each individual boiler system should be evaluated prior to application.
Powder caking may occur if exposed to moisture and then dried, especially if exposed to high heat and multiple wet/dry cycles. If powder cakes or hardens on surfaces within the boiler, remove by mechanical means or aggressive acid cleaning.
