Rust on Jeep Wrangler Suspension

The suspension on this Jeep Wrangler is showing early signs of rust. In this case the lower shock mounts and the shocks themselves are showing the most rust. The rear end is showing early signs of rust as well. The culprit appears to be paint failure due to road abrasion or potentially poor paint preparation. Salt applied to winter roads is likely a significant contributing factor to the rust.
